Rowan Parental Involvement Policy 2015-2016
1. Rowan Elementary
School will plan programs and activities to be implemented with meaningful
consultation with the parents of participating children.
2. Parents will be
involved in the decisions regarding how funds are allotted for parental

discuss annually the compact (outlines
how parents, school staff, and students share the responsibility for improving
learning) with parents as it relates to the individual child’s achievement.

and revision of any recommended changes to the school’s compact will include

Grade Reading Gate, State and District Assessments.
6. Parents will be
provided with information on how to monitor their child’s progress and work
with educators to improve the achievement of their children through Practical
Parent Educators (PPE).

discussing these and other academic issues will be held at the Rowan Elementary

School will ensure that information related to school and parent programs,
meetings, and other activities is sent to parents in a format to the extent
possible in a language parents can understand.

will offer a flexible number of parent/teacher conferences in mornings or

and/or faculty meetings for teachers, staff, and principals on how to work
together in a joint effort to reach out, communicate with and work with parents

and parent program will be presented annually at the school and community level
in order for parents to evaluate the programs.

receive a copy of the parental involvement policy.
